Yes, Buried at the Sundance Film festival was a huge success.  It sold to Lionsgate for 3.2 million, the first film to sell at the festival.  The budget was around 1 million dollars.  I play a small role at the end of the film and I’m proud of my good friend, writer Chris Sparling for his new found success and a perminate say in the Hollywood arena.  You did it brotha!

Here is an article from :  Jevon Phillips, 24 frames blog from the LA Times :

Before “Buried” screened to a capacity crowd, some of which got in by standing in line for six hours, star Ryan Reynolds set the tone by telling the audience: “I hope you enjoy this film as much as I hated making it.” The film was not only an ordeal for the star and filmmakers. Many in the audience commented afterward — verbally and through numerous tweets that smart phone wielders instantly sent — that their hearts were still racing and their hands still felt as if they were gripping the arm of their theater seats. The Brangelina breakup talk filtering through the audience was quickly forgotten as the film began. Ryan Reynolds’ Paul Conroy opens the film in the dark, in a box. A guy who already has to take anxiety medication is not the most well-suited to be in this situation, but that’s where we find the contractor/truck driver. He’s been buried there by terrorists in Iraq, or as one of the characters in the film says, “people just like you and me,” except that they resort to kidnapping for ransom when they’re in dire straits. Inside of this box, which looks to be about 9 to 10 feet long and about 3 feet tall, is the Zippo lighter that Paul brought with him, the anxiety pills, a flask of alcohol, and, as Conroy later learns, a cellphone and a bag left by the terrorists with assorted goodies in it — including a flashlight that doesn’t always work. The film is often mostly lighted, as director Rodrigo Cortes later confirmed, using Paul’s lighter (and light from the cellphone). Reynolds adds a touch of angsty comedy, but this suspense-filled film kept the audience on edge as they listened to Conroy’s frantic phone calls for help and to connect with his family. FBI, state officials, and even people on the ground in Iraq seem to be little consolation as time ticks on and the kidnappers’ demands are not met. It’s a solitary intense Ryan Reynolds, all the time (no cutting back to family — worried or not). And then there was also a stressed-out snake (again, according to Cortes). The crowd cheered and gave the film rousing applause when it ended. Besides director Cortes and star Reynolds, screenwriter Chris Sparling came up on stage in the post-film Q&A. Reynolds’ mind-state inside of the confined space, Cortes’ choice to stick with one actor onscreen the whole time, and Sparling’s inspiration for writing the movie were just some of the many questions brought up. For Sparling, the idea was born of necessity. “I thought: ‘What would be the cheapest movie to make ever.’ I just thought of smaller and smaller locations, and less and less actors.” Cortes also answered a lot of questions, including some from us as he stopped to have a chat, still basking in the post-screening glow.

Monday January 25, 2010 2pm est on talkshoe, The Lost Revisited Now  goes live with special guests from The Lost Mythos Theory cast.  They will tackle 108 questions you need to know for Season 6.  Will they be answered?  Will they not?  Have they been answered?  Are these the questions we need to ask?  Well, a long time ago, on a blog far far away, Ms. Wendy wrote on her bunnies blog 108 questions of Lost.  SO we decided to podcast about her list, what has been answered and what ones have not, and add new questions to what will and will not be answered in season 6.

To follow along at home, here is the list for Ms. Wendy’s blog :

I’m fairly certain that we’ll get the answers to questions like ” What is the Island?”, “What is the Smoke Monster?” and ” What went wrong after the O6 left?” But before LOST “closes its doors forever”, here is a “shopping list” of some goodies ( in various levels of “importance”) I hope I can pick up on the way out. (These are in no particular order.)

    1. The Red Shirt Episode : Not “Nikki and Paulo” but actual extras , folks like “Log Carrying Guy”, “Blue Stripped Half-Shirt Girl” and “Bald Guy That Looks Like Lance Kerwin“. They crashed on the Island as well, and as Arzt said “We’re people too”. I think it would be cool to see some humorous, but significant, connections to the other Losties and the Island that would explain their “longevity” .

    2. The Vincent episode : If this one actually sees the light of day, I suspect it will be near, if not THE, very end. That dog’s up to something…I can FEEL it!

    3. The Black Rock Episode: Big ship in the middle of the Island that is of interest to Widmore…Yeah, needs some airtime.

My good friend Mike, who currently works at Disney, sent me a link from the Glendale Examiner, an article written by Kristy Stevenson.  It’s a great read and a great idea that all Lost fans would go crazy for : A Lost Theme Park Attraction!  There is some great quotes from Jon Stueve and Jeff Jenson.    Got to give props to our Lost community, it is a powerful one!

I read it and had to share it with you all.  My dream may come true :

Proposed LOST-themed Disney attraction  by Kristy Stevenson

Finally, a brilliant idea on how to make LOST live on after the end of Season 6. Darlton said it, themselves (actually, this is a Carlton Cuse quote, but you get the idea):

LOST is a powerful franchise, and Disney (the parent-company of ABC) would be crazy not to continue it in some way.

The writers have confirmed that they will not be involved once their story is finished, and Darlton has said more than once that they will not take the path of Twin Peaks and the X-Files and create a LOST movie.

So where do fans go from here? To create a huge buzz for a LOST-themed Disney attraction, of course!

Jon Stueve, a LOST fan since the very beginning, has watched every episode as it aired and re-watched several the day after. Like most junkies (no offense intended here as I include myself among the addicted), he spent many a “morning after” kibitzing LOST theories at the office. Jon grew up in Southern California, visiting Disneyland many times and exploring Tom Sawyer Island as a kid. Although beloved, that island is outdated – and as is often the case at Disney parks: it’s out with the old and in with the new!

Currently part of Frontierland at both Disneyland (in California) and Walt Disney World (in Florida), Tom Sawyer Island is a prime choice to be transformed into the LOST island and a full-blown LOST experience. At least if Stueve gets his way.

Near the end of Season 5 of LOST, Stueve became active on Twitter (@LOST_WFTB, which stands for LOST: Watch From The Beginning), started following other LOST fans, and hatched the idea of a Twitter-based re-watch of all previous episodes as a way to keep the LOST fires burning during the excessively long hiatus. His efforts got noticed by Jeff “Doc” Jensen (@EWDocJensen) who writes LOST articles for Entertainment Weekly.

In a random tweeted conversation between Stueve and someone he follows, photos of Disneyland led to the statement, “Let me know when they’ve made Tom Sawyer Island into Dharma Island.” Having it out there, Stueve thought the idea was 1) humorous, and 2) had potential, so he made another public tweet. He was flabbergasted when Doc Jensen tweeted back, “I TOTALLY SECOND LOST_WFTB’s CALL FOR TURNING TOM SAWYER ISLAND AT DISNEYLAND INTO #LOST ISLAND! GET ON THAT, DISNEY!”

Jensen tweeted again, “LOST_WFTB: Seriously, dude. Start a petition. I’ll help promote it. We’ll get this done. I have no doubt Mighty Disney will bow to our will.” Stueve was floored that Jensen was not only reading his tweets, but replying. With a little online help, the LOST Themed Disney Attraction petition was born, and is now awaiting your signature!

    http://www.petitiononline.com/lostdisn/petition.html

Damon Lindelof mentioned the petition effort at the LOST Underground Art Project event. He is signing it – you should too. Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) even tweeted back to Jensen with, “@EWDocJensen — Carlton and I have been pushing to get a damn polar bear on Tom Sawyer Island for YEARS!!!!”

Write your congressman … nah, that won’t work. Write to Disney and let them know that millions of rabid LOST fans who watch the ABC network every week could one day be pouring their money into Disney parks to live the LOST experience. When the final season is over, and the LOST Auction has come and gone, viewers will flock to Disney to get their LOST “fix.” Imagine taking your family to the beach site of the Oceanic crash or the caves where many survivors moved; into the Hatch to visit the Swan Station; through the Dharma barracks; up close and personal with the Smoke Monster; through the island ruins, Jacob’s cabin, and the statue of Tawaret; on a submarine ride to Pala Ferry; and directly to the Frozen Donkey Wheel beneath the Orchid Station.

Sign the petition, brutha.  Make your voice heard.  And when the attraction is built, I’ll see you there.

Prosed site for the Lost Attraction :

Your opinion counts:  What do you think about a LOST attraction at Disney theme parks?  Will it happen?  Would you go?

Here is Tv.com’s Top 10 shows to watch for 2010.  I found it interesting.  Some shows I watch, some I heard were great, and some I just have never heard of.

Friday January 22, 2010 Ms. Wendy will be joining as co-host of THE FILM LIST, to go over the shows we think you should watch in 2010.  Now it’s for the 2nd half of the 2009-10 TV season, not a summer or fall preview, it’s for winter and Spring of 2010.

We will go over what’s coming out and give our choices for what you should watch and what we are going to watch.

Also notice, LOST is the top show on this list.  I like this guy Tim, who wrote the article.

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

by Tim Surette TV.com Staff Writer 01/08/10 03:00 PM

In the old days of television (circa 2005), the midseason was where networks dumped their dead bodies. Scripted shows that weren’t good enough for the fall season would debut as “midseason replacements” for fall shows that tanked, and they’d run side-by-side with quick-buck reality shows.

Not anymore. The midseason is home to some of television’s biggest hitters, including American Idol, Lost, and several premium-cable programs. So what should you keep an eye on in the first half of 2010? I chose ten comedy, drama and action programs I think will be worth watching (note: they’re all scripted shows that are premiering this midseason; returning fall shows and reality programs were not included).

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

    10. Life Unexpected — The CW, premiering January 18 at 9pm
For once, a new CW show that isn’t remaking an old program with hot youngsters. Life Unexpected follows a 16-year-old girl’s quest for emancipation from her biological parents, who gave her up for adoption. I’ve seen the pilot, and it’s touching and honest without being too cheesy. A pleasant surprise.

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

    9. Sons of Tucson — Fox, premiering March 14 at 8:30pm
Tyler Labine (Reaper’s Sock) is a couple hundred pounds of comedy gold, and I’m psyched to see him play a con artist who pretends to be a dad to a trio of kids. The show will air right in the middle of Fox’s animation block, so expect the same goofball comedy that fans of those other shows love.

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

    8. Damages — FX, premiering January 25 at 10pm
The revolving door on television’s best acting ensemble will bring in Lily Tomlin, Campbell Scott, and Martin Short this year. But the real attraction here is the show’s twisted sense of storytelling; going through a season of Damages is like putting the pieces of a shattered mirror back together. Without the bad luck.

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

    7. Treme — HBO, premiering in April
I’d put Treme higher on the list, but since The Wire is still vastly underwatched, I’ll leave it here. This anticipated show from Wire creator David Simon follows musicians in post-Katrina New Orleans, so don’t expect any forensics, psychics, explosions, or vampires. Just quality drama about the lifeforce of New Orleans.

Ten Shows to Watch this Midseason

    6. The Tudors — Showtime, premiering April 11
The final season of cable’s most lavish program will conclude the decadent life of Henry VIII. Spoiler alert: He dies. Who will have their head chopped off? Who will Henry bed? Who will be bedded by Henry and then have their head chopped off? These answers and more on the next season of The Tudors!

    5.  — HBO, premiering January 10 at 10pmBig Love
HBO’s Mormon drama gets more attention every season, and deservedly so. The acting is top notch (Chloe Sevigny and Jeanne Tripplehorn are Emmy-worthy), the drama is as heavy as it gets, and the subject matter is delightfully frowned upon by religious officials.

    4. Human Target — Fox, premiering January 17 at 8pm
If you like ’80s action movies that star wise-cracking macho men, you’ll like Human Target. Based on a comic book graphic novel, Human Target stars Mark Valley as a man who poses as a person in danger. There’s plenty of action and levity to make a bucket of popcorn mandatory during all viewings.

    3. Chuck — NBC, premiering January 10 at 9pm
The action-comedy (just barely!) returns for Season 3, and I couldn’t be happier. Why this show isn’t more popular is beyond me; it has spy gadgets, hot chicks, and a charming lead in Zachary Levi. This new season sees our accidental spy endowed with more than just top-secret tidbits; this time he actually learns how to kick some butt.

    2. Breaking Bad — AMC, premiering March 8
When we last saw Walter White, he was sifting through the wreckage of a plane crash that was indirectly his fault. Yikes. How is Season 3 going to top that? I don’t know, but I have all the faith that television’s best writing team to come up with something awesome.

    1. Lost — ABC, premiering February 2 at 9pm
I know, shocker. But how could the final season of Lost NOT be number one? Old ghosts are back as we press the rewind button (or fast-forward button) to discover what happens if Jack’s plan to detonate the H-bomb is successful. The four-toed statue, the bones of Adam and Eve, John Locke’s destiny, it will all make sense. And if it doesn’t, I’ll hunt down the producers myself.

Almost made the list: 24, Caprica, Life and Times of Tim, Justified, Archer, Southland, The Pacific
Which shows are you looking forward to?
