TLRNow Episode 77 “The Incident Bunny Awards”

10/4/09 – I joined Axel Foley on The Lost Mythos Theory Cast.  We talked about the show Flash Forward and Lost.  You can find this podcast “This is not a FlashForward podcast” on iTunes on both The Lost Revisited Now and the Lost Mythos feed.

10/5/09 – I joined the “Lostahlics rewatching Lost” podcast.  This week we discussed Season 3 episodes : “DOC, The Brig, and The Man Behind the Curtain.”

10/9/09 – Also on Friday, we will be recording a podcast for “The Lost Revisited Now.”   This week we are giving out the bunny awards to our favorite moments of the season 3 finale : “Through the Looking Glass.”  We will be joined by Nancy Drew (Lostaholics), Glen (Everyone’s favorite star wars/Hawthorne fan), and Donald from Donald is Lost/Re-opening the X-Files)  this podcast will be live on talkshoe at 930pm est.

Yes, we are 5 months or so away from the Lost season 6 premiere.  There are new shows premiering over the next two weeks and while I’m exciting for shows : Flash Forward, V, Criminal Minds, Curb your Enthusiasm, Fringe and Law and Order, I’m missing Lost.  But I’m a huge football fan so I have more than enough TV enjoyment to get me through till January.

I’ve been a frequent fantasy football player since 1991.  What is Fantasy football?  It’s a fun statistical league where you draft NFL players and based on what they do each week, you get points.  Each week if your players score more points than your opponent, you win.   The top teams make the playoffs and you compete until there is one champion.  It’s a real fun way to follow and enjoy football.  I’m a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, but if I draft a player that plays for Cincinnati, I’ll now be  interested in watching that game.  So it gives you a chance to enjoy games you normally would not,  allows you to have some fun with friends, and it’s just plain exciting!

I was approached by Mr. Payne last year to play in a Lost league.  I of course said yes and I am a part of the Lost Fantasy league.  Not everyone is a Lost podcaster, but we got some names you will recognize.

Week 1 results are in the books and there were some battles.  I was down 20 points to Mr. Payne going into Monday night, and Wes Welker and the Chargers defense came through.  Also, Ryan’s team made a trade before the season, but his line up didn’t have a third wide reciever, so they gave him an invalid roster and no points (we start a QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DEFENSE.).  It’s too bad because he has Drew Brees, QB for the Saints,  who threw for 6 tds on Sunday vs the Lions.

I will give reports on the league during the end of the Lost Revisited Now podcasts.  The fanatsy league is played for free using NFL.COM  Here are the results for week 1 :

DHARMA FIGHTING LAFLEURS  79  NO PAYNE NO GLORY  79

Week one is in the books, should be a fun season…..

August 4, 2009- It’s been a week since I went to Tom Ardavany’s “Actors on Acting Series” with Josh Holloway.  Yes, I’m still buzzing about it.  The experience was top notch and it will forever stay with me.  I’ve met many celebrities in my day.  I have close friends who are known for what they do.  But I think I’m still thinking about that night is because of a few things :  1.  my major  passion for Lost   2.  To validate that Josh Holloway is so great   3.  I learned so much from Tom Ardavany.

I podcasted about this particular night but i kept it very Josh Holloway related because it was posted on my Lost Revisited Now  feed.  I edited  the podcast down from an hour to 35 minutes to keep it Lost related.  But in doing so, I left out a lot of  information I got from Tom.  Thus some of my comments were a bit out of context.  I definetly need to learn to edit audio better, lol.

Tom Ardavany is a well respected acting teacher/coach that has worked with Josh Holloway at mastering his craft.  The Ardavany Approach is an amazing way to master the art of acting.

Some of Tom’s students are Rudy Reyes and Salvador Torres in HBO’s Generation Kill, and Matt Gerald in James Cameron upcoming epic Avatar.

For more information on the future guests of the “Actors on Acting Series”, class orientation, schedules, etc :

www.theapproach.net

If you are searching for a new acting approach, I suggest you check out Tom’s class and sign up for the free orientation.  He takes the art of acting to a new level.  He allows you to open that door so you can extend your creativity to a higher place.  The Ardavany approach allows you  to  use what is already in you to capture the essence of the character.  As Josh talked about, being specific in your approach allows you to use what’s inside you to become the character.  It is such a useful approach that has proven to be effective.

I didn’t have a chance to ask Josh a question but Tom contacted me the other day.  He was so kind to let me know he would pass on my question to Josh.  Tom didn’t half to do that.  He took time out of his busy day to do this for me.  Tom, thank you so much.  I really appreciate it.

Through the editing of my last podcast, I left out some of the great observations of Tom and some of the great insight I was privy to.  I recorded a special actors podcast for the blog.   Listen to part 2 of the night with Josh and Tom :

The Lost Ramble On 4 : Hiatus edition was very much a success.  The podcast ran for 6 hours plus and we had a strong all-star podcaster presence .  We had some of our usual suspects : Anna and Denise from Jacob’s CabinDonald from Donald is Lost,  Mr. Bill from Behind the Cutting EdgeNancy Drew from Lostaholics and Axel Foley from Lost Mythos Theory castMatt from Keys to Lost dropped by before his Saturday nite gig.

We also had some podcasters who made their TLRNow debut : Matt and Steve from The Smoke Hatch.  It was great to finally talk shop with them.  I’m a big fan of The Smoke Hatch and what they do.  Matt stayed till the end with us, he really kept the podcast going.  Thanks my brotha!

Karen from The Odi podcast stopped by.  She only could be around for the beginning but it was an honor to finally speak with her.  She has more knowledge about Lost then anyone I know (not counting Ms. Wendy & ND, lol) and really expresses that Lost passion we all have.  I love her work and you can check out her site : www.Karenslostnotebook.blogspot.com

The excitement of the evening was having our favorite dynamic duo from Hawaii on : Ryan and Jen from The Transmission.  Their podcast is the first one I have ever called into.  They are very well respected in the Lost community.  Why?  Not only do they have the absolute best Lost podcast out there, but they are so kind and down to earth.  They are real people.  Though there was some audio issues at times, when they speak you listen.  Finally we got to talk Lost with them.  Me and Ms. Wendy are so thankful they took the time to hang out with us.  Thanks Ryan and Jen.  Thank you for all that you do for us.  You truly are A+!

Ryan, Desmond and Jen!

Lost Ramble On 4 with Podcast All-Stars

As listeners to the TLRNow podcast know, me and Ms. Wendy do a segment called “Lost Alums.”  Other : Films, TV, etc. where we see Lost actors.  I had the privilege to see Public Enemies last night.  A great drama with Johnny Depp as John Dillinger.  The film had director Michael Mann’s classic feel : Hard rock and amazing shootouts.  The film had the 1080p feel, as it was shot digitally.  The film takes place in the 1930s, during the height of the Great Depression.  I liked the film, but as I ponder today, I think liked will be turned into loved.  Many great actors are in the film : Tommy from Snatch, that Brotherhood guy, Batman, and a special Lost alum.  That Lost alum was Claire, her real name, Emilie de Ravin.

We haven’t seen Emilie in Lost for over a year now, but her film career is starting to take off.  She has been coined by some as the new Indie queen (Independent films) though I have yet to hear that for myself.  But she is working.  though she was only in 1 sequence of the film, it was good to see Emilie in Public Enemies.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to be in a Michael Mann/Johnny Depp film.  Hell, give me one line and I’d be singing in the streets.  Congrats Emilie!
